The Black Law Students’ Association of Canada (BLSA Canada) invites you to submit a piece of your original/unpublished work for the annual magazine. Each year, the magazine is available in hard copy at the national conference and on the BLSA Canada website. This is an excellent opportunity for students, faculty and BLSA alumni to have their work featured in a nationally recognized publication.

This year, BLSA Canada is celebrating its 26th anniversary and we are seeking articles on a broad range of topics. Those interested in submitting work might consider, among many other subjects, some of the following ideas:

  • Personal law school experiences/professional reflections
  • Race relations and the legal system/cultural competency
  • Access to justice
  • The articling “crisis” and possible removal of the LPP Program

  • Commentary on current cases, public policy or legislative issues
  • Work/life balance
  • Reflections from study abroad
  • Coping with prejudice in law school or the workplace
  • The (French-English) language gap
  • Reflections/advice about the job hunt

We are also looking for artistic submissions related to our theme, such as photography, and poetry. Digital images of artwork such as painting and sketches are also welcome!
