Latisha Dias-Senat
Latisha Dias-Senat is the 2020-2021 National Francophone Communications and Chapters Representative. She also was the 2019-2020 National Francophone Representative. Knowing she always wanted to have a career in law, she completed a DCS in Paralegal Technology at O'Sullivan College of Montreal in 2017. Her studies confirmed that she was on the right path and decided to apply in the Licentiate in Law and Honours in International Development and Globalisation Degree at the University of Ottawa. The reason pushing Latisha towards law since her high school years was her main concern about women and children's safety in makeshifts camp after one of her countries of origin, Haiti, was hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in 2010. This event lead her to gain interest in Human rights and International law. She is aiming at working in the law branch of intellectual property and entertainment. In her free time, she writes and anxiously waits for the next episode of Insecure to air. Latisha aspires not only to be a lawyer and a published author but also to actively work within her community towards uplifting and helping others, may it be with fellow law students or lawyers, or women with PCOS.

Latisha Dias-Senat est la représentante nationale des communications et des chapitres francophones de l'année 2020-2021. Elle était également représentante nationale francophone pour l'année 2019-2020. Sachant qu'elle a toujours voulu faire carrière en droit, elle a complété un DEC en techniques juridiques au Collège O'Sullivan de Montréal en 2017. Ses études ont confirmés qu'elle était sur la bonne voie et elle a décidée de postuler à la Licence en droit avec distinction en développement international et mondialisation à l'Université d'Ottawa. La raison qui a poussé Latisha vers le droit, depuis ses études secondaires, était sa préoccupation concernant la sécurité des femmes et des enfants dans les camps de fortune après qu'un de ses pays d'origine, Haïti, ait été frappé par un tremblement de terre de magnitude 7,0, en 2010. Cet événement l'a amenée à s'intéresser au droits de l'homme et au droit international. Elle vise à travailler dans le domaine de la propriété intellectuelle et du divertissement. Pendant son temps libre, elle écrit et attend avec impatience le prochain épisode d'Insecure. Latisha aspire non seulement à être avocate et auteure publiée, mais aussi à travailler activement au sein de sa communauté afin d'élever au plus hauts des sommets et aider les autres, que ce soit avec des collègues étudiants en droit ou des avocats, ou avec des femmes atteintes du SOPK.
