National President

Tiana Knight is the National President of BLSA Canada for the 2020/2021 year. Tiana is a third-year law student at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. She has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Minor in English from York University in Toronto. This is her second year on the BLSA Canada executive, serving as the Conference Chair during the 2019-2020 year, the theme being Excellence Achieved Through Unity. Tiana has also been involved with BLSA on a local level, serving as BLSA Windsor’s VP Communications during her 2L year. Tiana has been distinguished as a top mooter of her class, excelling in oral advocacy. She has served on the admissions committee at Windsor Law, during her 2L year and is the former on-air co-host on G98.7’s weekly Grapevine program in Toronto. She is a board member of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) and has volunteered with the Toronto Catholic Children’s Aid Society as a youth mentor to children in care. In her free time, Tiana can be found reading (favourite book: Becoming by Michelle Obama), swimming or travelling. Tiana’s favourite travelled to destinations include Italy, Singapore and Greece.

Tiana Knight est la présidente nationale de l’AÉND Canada pour l'année 2020-2021. Tiana est étudiante en troisième année de droit à la faculté de droit de l'Université de Windsor. Elle détient un baccalauréat ès arts avec spécialisation en sociologie et une mineure en anglais de l'Université York à Toronto. Il s'agit de sa deuxième année au sein de l'exécutif de l’AÉND Canada, en tant que présidente de la conférence au cours de l'année 2019-2020, le thème étant l'excellence achevée grâce à l'union. Tiana a également été impliquée avec l’AÉND au niveau local, agissant en tant que VP Communications de l’AÉND Windsor au cours de sa deuxième année en droit. Tiana a été distinguée comme une des meilleures plaideuses de sa classe, excellant dans la plaidoirie orale. Elle a siégée au comité des admissions de Windsor Law au cours de sa deuxième année de droit et est l'ancienne co-animatrice en direct du programme hebdomadaire Grapevine de G98.7. Elle est membre du conseil d’administration de l’Association canadienne des avocats noirs (ACAB) et a fait du bénévolat auprès de la Toronto Catholic Children's Aid Society en tant que jeune mentor auprès des enfants pris en charge. Pendant son temps libre, on peut trouver  Tiana en train de lire (livre préféré: Becoming, Michelle Obama), nager ou voyager. Les voyages préférés de Tiana incluent des destinations vers l'Italie, Singapour et la Grèce.
