Mirabelle received a BComm with a minor in English from the University of Calgary and worked as a Communications and Development Coordinator at Pro Bono Law Alberta before starting law school. In the past 5 years, she has: co-founded Imuuta, a digital media company; interned in Ottawa and traded books with Members of Parliament; and danced in 3 Calgary Stampede parades for the Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary. Mirabelle has served as UCalgary BLSA's Vice President of Marketing and the UCalgary Gender Equity in Law Association’s Director of Community Relations. Prior to serving as BLSA Canada’s 2022-2023 National President, Mirabelle served as BLSA Canada’s 2021-2022 National Director of Communications.

 

Mirabelle’s areas of legal interest include administrative, environmental, and bankruptcy law, law reform, and litigation. Her paper on reforming Alberta’s Protecting Victims of Non-consensual Distribution of Intimate Images Act using feminist legal theory won a 2022 JSD Tory Writing Award, presented to the two best student submissions to the Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues. Mirabelle spent the summer after 1L working in the Canada Energy Regulator's Legal Services Unit and is an incoming summer student at McCarthy Tétrault.

Mirabelle Harris-Eze a obtenu un baccalauréat en commerce avec une mineure en anglais de l'Université de Calgary et a par la suite travaillé comme coordonnatrice des communications et du développement à Pro Bono Law Alberta avant de commencer ses études en droit. Au cours des cinq dernières années, Mirabelle a aussi cofondé Imuuta, une entreprise de médias numériques, et elle a fait un stage à Ottawa où elle a échangé des livres avec des membres du Parlement. Mirabelle a participé à trois défilés de danse pour le Stampede parades for the Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary. Mirabelle a été vice-présidente du marketing de l’AÉND de l'Université de Calgary et directrice des relations communautaires de UCalgary Gender Equity in Law Association. Avant d'occuper le poste de présidente nationale de l'AÉND pour l’année 2022-2023, Mirabelle a été directrice nationale des communications de l'AÉND durant l’année 2021-2022.

 

Les domaines d'intérêt juridique de Mirabelle sont le droit administratif, le droit de l’environnement, le droit de la faillite, la réforme du droit et les litiges civils. Son article sur la réforme de la loi albertaine « Protecting Victims of Non-consensual Distribution of Intimate Images Act », à l'aide de la théorie juridique féministe a remporté le prix JSD Tory Writing Award 2022, décerné aux deux meilleures soumissions d'étudiant.e.s au Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues. Mirabelle a par la suite passé l'été suivant sa première année en droit à travailler dans l'unité des services juridiques de l'organisme de réglementation de l'énergie du Canada. Mirabelle a commencé un stage étudiant chez McCarthy Tétrault depuis l’été 2022.
