Professional Development

The Black Law Students' Association of Canada, and its sponsors,  are dedicated to empowering the next generation of Black legal professionals. Through tailored programs and initiatives, BLSA Canada provides invaluable resources to foster career growth and excellence within the legal landscape. From skill-building workshops and networking events to mentorship programs and career guidance, our organization offers a comprehensive platform to elevate its members professional journey.

What We Do

The professional development portfolio is responsible for fostering professional resources and events that will help to enhance our members’ professional competencies and access to career opportunities. Such opportunities include access to industry professionals, corporate-learning events (i.e workshops), networking opportunities, academic panels, and so much more. Recent examples of events include: 

 

  • Cover Letter/Resume Workshops 

  • Hybrid Law Firm-Hop 

  • Career Fairs

  • Bilingual Clerkship Panels

 

Our goal is to connect students with the resources they need, while fostering relationships with alumni, professionals, corporations, and organizations who support our vision

Dentons and BLSA Canada Present:

Big Law 101 - A Guide to Full Service Law Firms.

BLSA Canada and Dentons LLP present a webinar introducing Black law students and Black undergraduate students to 'Big Law.' It was an opportunity to meet and learn from lawyers and business professionals working in the legal profession.
