Unfortunately, all tickets are non-refundable.

If I know who I would like to share a room with, do we both need to purchase a double accommodation ticket?

Yes, you must both purchase a double accommodation ticket to ensure we have an accurate account of attendees.

Can we bring plus ones?

Plus ones are allowed. However, they will have to purchase a non-student ticket.

ACCOMMODATION & ROOMING

What are the hotel accommodation options?

Attendees have the option to purchase a single or double accommodation. If you choose double accommodation and there is a particular student you would like to share a room with, please indicate that in your registration form.

How are roommates assigned?

When you purchase your double accommodation ticket, you can indicate your roommate preference.

There will also be a separate Google Form sent to confirm roommate pairings.

What if we are a couple and only need a single accommodation?

You will both need to buy tickets to ensure we have an accurate count of attendees. However, if you plan to share the same single room, one person can buy a ticket with accommodation, and the other can buy a ticket without.

Can I request a room with someone from a different school?

Yes, you can indicate that when you purchase your ticket.

Can I stay at the hotel even after the conference is done?

You are welcome to stay in the hotel after the conference. The hotel may offer a special discounted rate to conference attendees three (3) days before and three (3) days after the conference. To take advantage of this offer, contact our Conference Chair, Maureen Coulibaly, at conference@blsacanada.com.

What if I don’t have a preferred roommate?

If you do not indicate a specific person, and you purchase a double accommodation ticket, you will be randomly matched with another unpartnered person of the same gender.

Can I use hotel facilities i.e. pool and wellness centre?

All Conference attendees have complimentary use of the Wellness Center, including the indoor pool.

Conference attendees also have 15% off purchases at Marché Artisans (the hotel’s grocery and coffee shop) during official program dates

The BLSA Canada Executive Board recognizes that our work takes place across many Indigenous territories across the land now called Canada. There are 70 treaties signed between the Crown and Indigenous nations, as well as unceded territories in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. We would also like to acknowledge that our office, located in Tkaronto (Toronto, Ontario), is home to many Indigneous nations, including the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Mississaugas of the New Credit, and lies in the territory governed by The Dish with One Spoon treaty. Indigenous peoples continue to live on and commune with these lands, and we are mindful of broken covenants and the past and present impacts of settler colonialism. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those in whose territory we reside.
